This is the first blog I have written with blogger and am excited to begin
posting and what not. However, I really don’t have that much to say at this time. I would like those of you out there to know that I have really been enjoying my new job as ad manager for a weekly publication. It has began to teach me a lot about people and the first thing I have learned is that many people enjoy getting things feed to them. For instance the more informed you sound and convinced you appear the more credit you are given. I sold ad spots to a plethra of clients my first few days on the job with hardly any real idea of what it was that I was offering them. I can only hope that as a consumer I am not just as likely inclined to fall into the same pits.
On the topic of vendettas, this is what keeps me going in the work place. I have competition from a few other publications in my area and that is what really fuels me. If I can bet out the others it doesn’t matter how much I get paid, commession, or whatever. I just want to be able to win the battle. That is the drive. I have made a vendetta board in my office with a list of people/organizations/businesses that I am in competition with and I am slowly beginning to cross off the names that I have dominance over. The battle rages on however. If I ever get to the top it will be a lonely place to be. I will have to constantly watch over my sholder for the next guy in line with a vendetta. However, I believe I am up to the challenge.
The next blog will be discussing the works of Ayn Rand. Particularly her novels The Fountianhead and Anthem.
